Problems with AS/400 NetServer Printer Shares
Incident Summary

Problem Summary:
The AS/400 NetServer and some printer shares have been configured through Operations Navigator, but they do not work.

Resolution:
Here is a list of things to check:
o From Operations Navigator, verify that the AS/400 NetServer is started.
o Type CWBPING <as400-netserver-name> from an MS DOS Prompt or Command Prompt and verify that the Network Print server is connected.
o Use the Start Host Server ( STRHOSTSVR ) command with the Server type (SERVER) parameter set to *ALL from an OS/400 command line to start all host servers, including the Network Print (*NETPRT) server.
o Use the Work with Subsystems ( WRKSBS ) command to verify that the QSERVER, QSYSWRK ,and QUSRWRK subsystems are all started (depending on the OS/400 version).
