1 Create a Virtual CD Device, and vary this on (this can be reused so will not need to be done every time). On the OS/400 command line, type the following:

CRTDEVOPT DEVD(OPTVRT01) RSRCNAME(*VRT) TEXT('Virtual Media CD Device')

Press the Enter key.
2 To vary on the device, on the OS/400 command line type the following:

WRKCFGSTS CFGTYPE(*DEV) CFGD(OPTVRT01)
